What is Click Engineered Wood Flooring?
Click engineered wood flooring specifically references the joining method that the planks are manufactured with. In contrast to tongue and groove wood floors, click engineered oak can be ‘floated’ directly above your subfloor. This cutting-edge technology eliminates the need for adhesives or nails and dramatically decreases the amount of time needed to install the flooring. This seamless and hassle-free installation is highly desirable for professional fitters and DIY enthusiasts alike.
The multi-ply constructed boards comprise of a solid oak wear layer (top) and highly compressed plywood to restrict movement within the natural materials and the installation at large. The harmonious blend of durable and renewable materials delivers flooring that is easy to install, built to last and striking on the eye. Our Buckingham collection of click engineered floors are available in a wide spectrum of colours, dimensions and finishes to suit all interior inspirations.

Limitations of Click Engineered Wood Flooring
Limited Refinishing: As engineered wood is constructed using thinner oak wear layers, the number of times you can sand and refinish the flooring is reduced as opposed to solid wood flooring. No need to worry though, you will be able to carry out this maintenance at least 2-3 times during the lifetime of the flooring – if you want to.
Moisture & Humidity: Excessive amounts of moisture exposure and high humidity can increase the changes of movement within the natural materials. To prevent this simply refrain from installing engineered oak floors in bathrooms, porches and basements.
Scratch Vulnerability: Despite its durability, engineered wood flooring can still suffer from scratches and dents. The good news is that you can take measures to prevent these mishaps from occurring. We recommend that all furniture is fitted with felt pads and make sure to lift furniture instead of dragging, where possible. Don’t use inappropriate footwear such as high heels or studded sports boots when walking on your click engineered wood floors. Additionally, you can choose an oiled or lacquered finish depending on where you will be installing the flooring. Take note to avoid these common flooring maintenance mistakes and enjoy your dream flooring for years to come.
