Our Kensington Ember is a smoked engineered wood offering – this is where the oak has been exposed to ammonia in a sealed space, darkening the tannins within the wood and delivering an aged, darker tone. Smoked engineered wood has a unique appearance as smoking provides a non-uniform colour for each plank. This highly attractive floor has then been brushed and lacquered to provide even more charm and depth to its grain.
The Kensington collection has been curated with style and functionality in mind. Exclusively crafted with responsibly sourced engineered wood, this range can be utilised in traditional or contemporary environments.

All of our products are sourced from sustainable forests and we only use manufacturers that are PEFC certified. PEFC is a non-government organisation that ensures that the forests that we harvest from are responsibly managed to provide environmental, social and economic benefits.
To demonstrate our commitment to the environment, we have named Ecologi as our premier sustainability partner. You can find out more information about our strategies and partners on our sustainability page.
18mm Smoked Engineered Wood
The Kensington Ember straight plank are random lengths starting at 300mm and going up to 1200mm. This helps to create a non-uniform pattern during the installation and make the flooring appear long-established. The high-quality 5mm wear layer is made from solid oak, whilst the thickness of the boards are 18mm – delivering a flooring that can withstand moderate to high foot traffic suitable for hallways, living rooms and bedrooms.
The mechanically brushed Kensington Ember has been expertly finished with UV lacquer to form a solid layer of protection against direct sunlight, dirt and moisture.
For larger installations and non-uniform spaces, use our handy Room Calculator to find out the amount of flooring you will require. Simply divide up your space in to different sections, measure the length and the width and enter the results into our calculator. Your requirements will appear along with 10% for cuts and wastage for your convenience. Make sure your measurements are accurate, give us a call if you require extra assistance!
