The King only sources the very best quality Lumber, this has never been presented better than with our Tudor Silk. Harvested, crafted and protected with UV lacquer, the Silk is a natural wonder. No colours, stains or finish techniques have been applied, the wood speaks for itself.
Solid wood flooring was traditionally utilised by wealthiest households in France by the late 1600’s. Hand crafted, different sized trees were harvested, sanded and polished for non-uniform installations. Our Silk has been cut to random lengths to ensure this tradition continues. It also helps our manufacturers reduce wastage and utilise more raw materials.
UV lacquer is applied to our Tudor Silk as opposed to the polishing process traditional wood floors would have been subjected to. Technological advances have helped us create more durable flooring with extra protection. The Silk takes its name from the slightly glossy appearance the wood takes from the lacquered finish. The added layer of protection on the surface ensures surface moisture cannot penetrate the straight planks. This built-to-last flooring solution is designed for modern living in traditional and contemporary settings.
