Windsor Grand Heritage Engineered Wood Flooring
Our Windsor Grand Heritage engineered oak is the bolder and more expansive sibling of the Windsor Heritage. The Windsor range is a comprehensive collection of engineered oak flooring that showcases our superior quality and refined manufacturing techniques. The Grand Heritage does not compromise in any aspect.
The stunning extra-wide boards are 240mm, the larger surface area displays more character, grain and knots. The classic grading ensures the 1900mm long planks highlight all the natural imperfections of a hard wood floor. Paltry amounts of sap, wood blended with distinctive knots, and ornate grain patterns make the Grand Heritage one of our finest floors.
The Windsor Grand Heritage has a 4V groove, micro bevelled edge that highlights the edges of all four sides of each individual plank. This high-class finish ensures that each board is defined to show its own character; it's also considered to be more a traditional appearance for hard wood flooring. A micro bevelled edge is more forgiving on a sub-floor that isn’t completely level and is therefore a much better option for older properties.
PEFC Certified Wood
Our customers know that we only sell the highest quality engineered oak flooring, we extensively research our manufacturers to make sure they are PEFC certified and that the calibre of the timber matches our elevated expectations. The Grand Heritage’s 6mm solid oak wear layer is brushed with metal wire combs to make sure no new growth can occur within the boards. This process also removes softer spring wood leaving only the hardest and oldest lumber in the boards.
To demonstrate our commitment to the environment, we have named Ecologi as our premier sustainability partner. You can find out more information about our strategies and partners on our sustainability page.
Oiled Engineered Wood Flooring
The Grand Heritage is crafted to appear as natural as possible. In order to achieve this we have used techniques mentioned above as well as smothering the solid oak wear layer in viscous hard wax oil. Added thickness in the oil gives extra protection to the hard wearing veneer, preventing surface moisture and humidity affecting the integrity of the boards. The hard wax soaks deep into each plank making sure that the whole 20mm is protected, not just the wear layer. The matt finish exposes the brushed surface whilst keeping the textured appearance and feel intact.
