Our Sandringham Forest engineered oak flooring is a beautifully crafted darker style hardwood floor that benefits from a protective layer of UV lacquer to help preserve the boards and prevent the early ageing of the natural product. The lacquer sits on the top of the 3mm wear layer of solid oak, it does not penetrate the wood itself but rather creates a seal over the top. Underneath the oak veneer the plank is manufactured with 11mm compressed plywood, providing an overall thickness of 14mm.
The Sandringham Forest’s easy to install tongue and groove system can be secret nailed or glued down depending on your subfloor’s construction and evenness. Once the boards have been joined together by the tongues and grooves the surface becomes one flat surface creating a level appearance with added strength and durability.
All of the lumber for our engineered wood flooring is sourced from sustainable forests and we only use manufacturers that are PEFC certified. PEFC is a non-government and non-profit organisation that ensures that the forests that we harvest from are responsibly managed to provide social, environmental and economic benefits.
For every order we receive, our partner Ecologi will plant a tree to offset our emissions and demonstrate our commitment to sustainability.
The dimensions of the Sandringham Forest straight planks are 14mm thick and 125mm wide. The lengths are completely random between the range of 300mm - 1200mm meaning that the appearance of the installation will be non-uniform.
This style of hardwood fitting is a more traditional approach and does not allow for patterns to appear in the design.
