Sandringham Crown Engineered Wood Flooring
The Sandringham Crown engineered oak has a wear layer of 3mm giving this floor longer durability and resistance against high levels of usage. The solid oak veneer is carefully selected to match our desired grading. Our classic grade means the Crown’s appearance is a delicate balance of rustic grain patterns, imperfections, characterful knots and sap wood - everything you’d associate with a traditional wood floor!
In order to enhance the traditional features in the planks we have lightly stained the wear layer. The colour of the Sandringham Crown is more of a warm oak which contrasts perfectly with lighter décor, ideally installed in period properties due to its perceived age and style.
Customers love our Sandringham range of flooring because of the 14mm thickness and the 3mm wear layer. The boards of the Crown flooring are 125mm wide which means they can be used to make rooms appear wider and longer. Hallways, living rooms and dining rooms are ideal locations to install this style of flooring.
The planks come in random lengths ranging from 300mm-1200mm and this allows fitters to use a random installation pattern closely associated with historical flooring installations. The Sandringham Crown is an ideal candidate for customers who want a quintessentially traditional hardwood floor.
Straightforward Installation
Installing the Sandringham Crown is also effortless. The boards have been manufactured with a classic tongue and groove mechanism that once put together, prevents movement and shrinkage. There are two ways of laying the floor in your property, depending on the sub-floor and your installer's recommendation you may prefer one over the other.
If you benefit from a wooden subfloor you would be able to secret nail the tongue mechanism down to hold the flooring in place. Alternatively flooring adhesive can be applied to the back of each individual plank and stuck down directly on to the sub-floor.
Brushed Engineered Wood Flooring
The engineered wood planks have been brushed to accentuate the hardwood grain and bring out the natural characteristics of the wood. Once this process has prevented new growth from taking place, UV lacquer is then applied to ensure the product is protected against moderate levels of foot traffic, moisture and direct sunlight.
It’s always helpful to point out that because the UV lacquer is an added protective layer you must take precautions when moving furniture or heavy items across the surface. Always use anti-scratch felt pads for chair legs, sofa feet, lamps and tables.
